WHAT IS AN AUTORESPONDER?
An automated letter response system that is linked to an e-mail system.
HOW DO AUTORESPONDERS WORK?
First a message is typed and uploaded into the system and then keyed to "activate" by words place in
the "subject line" of the e-mail. For example, lets say that Fanny's Bunn Covers, Inc. wants to post
an autoresponder letter that sells her designer stove burner covers. First she would type in her
strong sales letter and upload that into her autoresponder, next she would set that autoresponder to
"trigger" with words in the subject line, like: MORE BUNN INFO. Next she would select the
address where this letter is like BunnInfo@bunncovers.com . The first part of this address is place
where the actual business account is. After the @ is the address of her domain site where the
autoresponder resides and the MORE BUNN INFO tells what letter to send.
Now lets say Sally reads something about the Bunn Covers and hits a link to request more
information - a link that Fanny has posted on her autoresponder that contains all the information
above. When Sally sends this message it is picked by the autoresponder the INSTANT it hits the
e-mail box. The autoresponer instantly sends Fanny's Bunn Covers sales letter to Sally's e-mail
address. This is all done instantly. In fact, Sally's letter was answered in seconds without Fanny
ever going through her e-mail. Sally got the information she requested in her e-mail box with in 1
to five minutes of clicking on Fanny's autoresponder link.
WHAT ARE THE USES FOR AN AUTORESPONDER?

IS THERE A SIZE LIMITATION ON MY AUTORESPONDER LETTER OR CATALOG?
Yes. While the space in the autoreponder is very flexible, the space in most e-mail server accounts
is not. It is a good idea to limit your letter or catalog to about 10 pages.
DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS ON WRITING A GREAT AUTORESPONDER SALES LETTER?
Yes, keep these things in mind when writing your autoresponder sales letter.
1. Begin with a greeting that reminds them that they "REQUESTED" this information from you.
You can use something like:
Thank you for requesting more information about....
. Remember that
some people get tons of e-mail and may forget this and if you do not remind them, you could be
turned in as a spammer or for sending unsolicited e-mail.
2. Write in a natural tone...like you are sharing something wonderful with a friend.
3. Get your reader involved by writing a "hook line" that draws them in to read more. Start with
something outrageous:
Have you ever found and elephant in your freezer?
OR start with some
exciting news about your product:
We are very proud to introduce that Fanny's Bunn covers now
comes in 32 designer colors.
Or ask a question:
Are you tired of the same old tired menu?
4. Write a linking or tie in line or two that will pull your reader into introducing your product or
service. Examples: (HOOK):
Have you ever found and elephant in your refrigerator?
(Linking)
Well
you might, if you had our new peanut butter malts in your freezer. It has the great taste that even
elephants flip over.
5.
Be PERSONAL with your sales letter and use YOU and YOUR rather than "it" and "the." By
using the YOU and YOUR approach in your letter it lets your client claim ownership of the
product... In other words you are writing like he already owns it.
6. Build value in your product. Explain the good points, the uses, the service for each product. Let
your client see it, smell it, taste it, touch it. Show HOW it will solve their BIG problem.
7. Give them a VALUE price before you list the actual price. Example:
Seen in stores everywhere for
$400.00...but in this limited offer, you can get yours for just $59.99.
8. Offer them a deal they can't refuse....
Order in 48 hours and we'll send you a stuffed elephant free!
9. Sweeten the pot...
Example: Order in 36 hours get the stuffed elephant and free shipping!
10. Add a bonus for fast orders. Example:
Order in 24 hours and get the stuffed elephant, free
shipping AND 20% off certificate on your next order! A 50.00 value!
11. Give them the take-away. Example:
But hurry this is a limited time offer.
12. Ask for the sale. Example:
Order your's now.
13. Provide a complete order form.
14. Explain about delivery and shipping.
15. Give complete company contact information and mailing directions.
16. Proof read your letter carefully...and let someone else proof it too.
17. Run and use your spell checker.
Congratulations you just wrote a dynamite sales letter! Copy it and e-mail it to your
autoresponder.
